Winter Gear List
This pack list is for multi-day trekking and mountain camping using mountaineering skis or snowshoes. Minimal gear dry weight is approximately 37 pounds or 17 kilos. Dry weight is without food or water. Weight loads are packed in Puck Sled and pulled across snow to a base camp, not carried. Trek Dependent Optional Equipment (see below) is packed if setting up a back country base camp for day hikes / ski tours in high elevation back country. La Sportiva / SkiTrab Mountaineering skis and MSR Snowshoes are primary trekking mode in all winter situations. All optional equipment for day excursions fit inside or attached to the La Sportiva Sunlite or Osprey Exos 48 Backpacks.
